President Trump to announce $54 billion investment in LNG pipeline, White House official says – Alaska's News Source
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – President Donald Trump is set to announce a $54 billion investment into Alaska’s proposed LNG pipeline project around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, a White House official tells Alaska’s News Source.
“President Trump will announce major energy infrastructure investments that deliver on his day one promises to unleash American energy and unlock Alaska’s extraordinary resource potential,” White House Spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said in a statement.
The officials said the investment is a portion of the $200 billion committed in the “US/Korea Trade and Investment Initiative” announced in November.
The announcement is expected to be made in the Oval Office, according to the White House official. Gov. Mike Dunleavy, Sen. Dan Sullivan and Rep. Nick Begich of Alaska will be among the participants in the announcement, alongside several Trump cabinet members.
