Incumbent Rep. Dina Titus (D), Carrie Buck (R), Steven St John (No Political Party), and Bobby Khan (No Political Party) are running in the general election for Nevada’s 1st Congressional District on Nov. 3, 2026. Titus and Buck lead in noteworthy endorsements, fundraising, and media attention.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) identified it as a target district and named Buck to its MAGA Majority program, which provides support to candidates in Democratic-held or open districts. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) named Titus to its Frontline program, which provides support to Democratic incumbents in competitive districts.
According to The Cook Political Report’s Matthew Klein, “Buck, a former English-as-a-second-language teacher, has kept pace with Titus in fundraising and has a compelling story as an educator who turned a struggling Henderson elementary school around. But Democrats cracked the Las Vegas Valley in redistricting to keep this seat from flipping, and Titus was reelected by eight points in 2024 even as Trump made inroads here.”
Titus was first elected to represent the district in 2012 and previously represented Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District from 2009 to 2011. She also represented Nevada Senate District 7 from 189 to 2008. Titus’ professional experience includes working as a professor at the University of Nevada.
Titus is campaigning on affordability. She said, “When conflict disrupts oil supply, it drives up energy prices, and this is not just at the pump. We have seen it in Las Vegas – in just one month, the price of gas has gone up $1 per gallon. These high oil prices push inflation higher, slow economic growth and directly feed into affordability for families.”
Buck was first elected to represent Nevada Senate District 5 in 2020. Her professional experience includes working as a teacher and an elementary school principal. Buck also worked as the president and executive director of the Pinecrest Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports charter schools.
Buck’s campaign website said she would “work to protect parents’ rights, secure the border, fully fund our police, ensure tips are never taxed, and work with the President to hold Washington accountable for every taxpayer dollar.”
Based on second-quarter reports filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Titus raised $1.5 million and spent $355,197, and Buck raised $1.9 million and spent $1.3 million. To review all the campaign finance figures in full detail, click here.
